Here at Topaz Labs, we can’t get enough of the new and improved Texture Effects 2! It’s faster, it’s more fun, and the possibilities are endless! But we want to tell you more about what’s new in the creative arsenal. We’ve loaded Texture Effects 2 with new creative assets. The update boasts 90 new assets: 10 new borders, 30 new double exposure images, and 50 professionally crafted textures from 2 Lil Owls and Meredith Images, a $60 value.

Texture Effects 2 now supports transparency with PNG and TIFF files! We went ahead and added 10 new borders with transparency to the already extensive collection of borders. But, that’s just the beginning! These new borders were created for you guys from actual instant film transfer images and from real hand painted edges. The new transparent borders can easily have more or less detail, have saturation changes, be perfected with blending modes, and have the perfect opacity.

TIP: When using borders with transparency, try experimenting with different Blending Modes. You can make a variety of looks and styles with this one simple change. Check out the difference with this example image, edited with the effect Flat Neon with an added transparent border:

Double Exposure

We’ve added 30 Double Exposure images! We found and added 30 beautiful Double Exposure images to Texture Effects 2 just for you. We added everything from skies to landscapes to patterns. The new double exposure images can be added to create striking images or soft and subtle images.

TIP: Remember, blank spaces work best to add Double Exposure images. You can finesse your image by using Opacity, Masking, and more. Check out these two examples that I made in about 5 minutes:

Professional Textures

All of the original textures from Texture Effects are still available within the program, but we’ve also added 50 professionally crafted textures from 2 Lil Owls and Meredith Images! The new textures are a fantastic addition to Texture Effects 2 and open up the possibilities for even more creativity.
